CONTRACT OPPORTUNITIES
The Southeast Houston Affordable Housing Initiative is a strategic collaboration between the Midtown Redevelopment Authority (MRA) and the Center for Civic and Public Policy Improvement (CCPPI). Launched under the Midtown Affordable Housing Plan adopted by the MRA Board of Directors in 2017, the initiative aims to catalyze the development of thousands of affordable housing units across Southeast Houston.
As part of this effort, the initiative facilitates the construction of single-family homes for sale by providing MRA-owned land—located in the Greater Third Ward, MacGregor, and OST/South Union super neighborhoods—to qualified affordable homebuilders at a nominal cost. This approach helps reduce development barriers and accelerates the creation of affordable homeownership opportunities in historically underserved communities.
